Connect with history as you explore our collections on your own. You'll learn the story of Pocahontas County from virgin prairie to established farmsteads and from small settlements to growing towns. You'll get to see and touch and even try your hand on some items. Keep your cell phone handy so you can access videos and information through QR codes.
We are happy to give you a guided tour of the museum.
Call or Email ahead for a tour.
For some extra fun go on a scavenger hunt at the museum. Younger students can find items to match photos. They've got to be careful because there's a decoy. Older students and county history buffs can learn some cool county history while searching for items. We even have a scavenger hunt for fabrics. Ask at the desk.
