What to see and do
Catch Our Exhibits
Connect to local history through our various exhibits. We are constantly adding to and changing our displays as we acquire new objects and research new ideas. Every three months we also load up a car with some of our treasures and take to the road. We will travel to the public libraries around our area.
Tour When You Visit
Explore highlights of our collection through a variety of tours with our knowledgeable volunteers. Experience 3-D photos through our stereoscopic viewer, crank an old corn sheller, weave a few rows of a mini-rag rug. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy the opportunities to explore items in our collection. Tours are free so schedule one today!
Historical Research
You can do research at the museum using our large number of printed resources related to Pocahontas County history. We have books, articles, family histories, plat books, telephone books, club minutes, and more. If you live outside of town, we can do minor research for you. You can also access historical photos of Pocahontas Country in our online archive. If you have historical photos that you would like to add to our archives, call or email us.
